NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, declared on Wednesday that whenever the Aam Aadmi Party gains power, temporary workers will be made permanent. A plan to promote 3,100 domestic breeding checkers to Multi-Tasking Staff and regularise 5,000 sanitization staff was accepted by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House on Tuesday. He said, virtually addressing a press conference, that while the BJP controlled the MCD, sanitation workers were taken advantage of. “The process of regularisation has been advanced. We have also regularised almost 30,000 temporary workers in Punjab. We will regularise temporary workers wherever we have the opportunity to take office,” he declared. The MCD House has approved 54 recommendations, including ones pertaining to meat shop licences, principle training in overseas institutions, and a policy providing Rs 1,100 per child to pupils in MCD schools.
