LEH: According to officials, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were struck by two moderately strong earthquakes on Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning in the wee hours of the Ladakh region, an earthquake with a Richter Scale of 4.5 struck the Leh area, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The earthquake occurred at a depth of five kilometres and was located in Leh, according to the NCS. The National Centre for Seismology reported in a post on X that a “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.5, Occurred on 26-12-2023, 04:33:54 IST, Lat: 34.73 & Long: 77.07, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Leh, Ladakh“. Nevertheless, there were no reports of any localised earthquake-related damage. The Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir was struck by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter Scale, according to NCS. The Kishtwar earthquake happened at a depth of five kilometres at approximately 1.10 am, according to the NCS. There were multiple earthquakes in the area last week, which made the locals more nervous.
