JAMMU, Dec 23: The family members of the three civilians who were discovered dead close to the scene of an anti-terrorist operation in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir were given jobs and compensation by the state government on Saturday. Jammu and Kashmir’s political parties have claimed that the three men were among those taken into custody by the Army to be questioned in relation to the Thursday terrorist ambush that claimed the lives of five soldiers in the district. The men were discovered dead on Friday under suspicious circumstances.
The Union Territory’s Information and PR department posted on X, stating, “Three civilian deaths were reported yesterday in Baffliaz, Poonch District.” The relevant authority has started legal action in this case after the medicolegal procedures were completed. The government has declared compensation for each person who passed away. Additionally, the government has declared appointments to be made compassionately to each deceased person’s next of kin,” the statement said. At a blind curve at Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz on Thursday, two Army vehicles were ambushed by heavily armed terrorists, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers and the injuries of two others. Following that, security personnel conducted a thorough cordon and search of the area.
