Azad inspects Doda accident site, urges administration to ensure safety measures for smooth traffic movement

DODA: Ghulam Nabi Azad went to the scene of tragic accident in Assar, Doda. On November 15, bus carrying passengers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district skidded off the road and rolled down into 300-foot gorge, leaving at least 39 people dead and numerous others injured. “It is imperative that the administration and traffic police step up their efforts to enforce strict adherence to traffic rules in the wake of the recent tragedy. Such precautions are essential to averting more catastrophic mishaps, according to Azad. The fact that the injured passengers were airlifted to Jammu for medical attention highlights how urgent it is to enhance safety protocols to prevent such catastrophic events in the future. Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, additionally approved an ex-gratia of Rs lakh for each of the relatives of those who perished in the tragic bus accident. He also promised the impacted families that all possible help would be provided, and he approved sum of Rs lakh for the injured.
