BARAMULLA: A renowned drug dealer was reportedly taken into custody by Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday in the Baramulla region of north Kashmir. “Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested notorious & wanted lady drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from her possession” . “Reliable information about the existence of contraband in a residential home at Trikanjan Boniyar was provided to Police Station Boniyar. As a result, a police team from Police Station Boniyar led by SHO PS Boniyar and overseen by SDPO Uri conducted a raid on the aforementioned residence. The statement states that “60 grammes of illegal Herion-like substance were found during the search in the custody of a woman identified as Farhat Begum @ Fancy, wife of Rayees Ahmad Khan, inhabitant of Trikanjan Boniyar. “She has been arrested and shifted to PS Boniyar where she remain in custody.” “Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law have been registered at police Station Boniyar & investigations have been initiated” , the notification states. “We kindly request that the general public report any crimes or drug sales they come across by calling 112 or the local police station. In order to reduce the drug threat in society, people are asked to work with the police. The statement continues, “We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals in accordance with the law.”
