SRINAGAR, Oct 19: Today at Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School (PCHSS), here, the much-awaited Soan Meeraas Cultural Fair was opened in a grand ceremony by Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar. The fair unites music, art, and tradition in the centre of the valley, marking a momentous cultural milestone.Speaking to the sizable assembly of the institution’s parents, teachers, and students, Advisor Bhatnagar emphasised the value of preserving cultural traditions and expressed his great delight at being a part of this exciting event. He said that we must remember our own cultural and traditional roots despite the increasing modernism and demand for digital technologies.The advisor emphasised that the students will be exposed to a wide range of cultural activities and performances at this special fair, such as traditional music and dance, art exhibits, interactive cultural workshops, and local crafts and art, all of which will educate them about their society’s history and customs. He praised the school administration for planning this cultural spectacular and emphasised that schools play a crucial role in fostering our children’s ancestors’ cultural heritage.During his speech, Advisor Bhatnagar also discussed the J&K government’s numerous efforts to streamline the local educational system. He emphasised that when it comes to putting the National Education Policy-2020 into practise, Jammu and Kashmir is among the best. In order to better prepare the next generation for difficulties ahead, he continued, the government has made incubation, innovation, and vocational education a top priority in schools. The advisor went on to say that Jammu and Kashmir is at the forefront of the empowerment of women and girls in education, with these girls rising to the top and winning gold medals in local universities.In Jammu and Kashmir, women are becoming equal partners and leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship, he continued. Advisor Bhatnagar also visited the school’s exposition area and spoke with the children there while attending the fair on the fringes. The advisor praised the kids for their active participation in the display during the conversation, saying it demonstrated how deeply ingrained in their customs and culture they are.
