NEW DELHI, Jun 8 : The number of coronavirus infections in India has increased to 199, but the number of active cases has decreased to 2,687 from 2,831, based on information that the Union Health Ministry updated on Thursday. According to figures updated at 8 am, the death toll has increased to 5,31,886 with two deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
The total number of COVID-19 cases was 4.49 crore (4.49,92,293).The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.81 percent, and the active cases currently make up 0.01 percent of all infections, according to the ministry.
A record 4,44,57,720 people had recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate was 1.18 percent.
On the nation as a whole, the COVID-19 vaccine has been given out in doses totaling 220.66 crore, according to the ministry’s website. (Agencies)
