JAMMU: Today, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar went over the Industries & Commerce Department’s land-related difficulties and the creation of Industrial Estates in the Districts. The Div Com examined in depth the impediments faced by the stakeholder Departments and the land acquisition for industrial estates in the districts of Kathua, Samba, Jammu, and Udhampur. Inderjeet Singh, MD of SIDCO/SICOP, Shivanant Tayal, MD of JPDCL, Chief Conservator of Forest, B Mohan Dass, Regional Director Pollution Control Board, Sat Paul, Chief Engineers of JPDCL, Assistant Commissioner Central, Angrej Singh, Director Industries, Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Udhampur, as well as other concerned officers, all attended the meeting in person.In addition to the progress made in settling the land-related concerns of the Industries Department that were still pending in the districts, flimsy discussions were conducted regarding the expansion of current estates and the establishment of new estates. The involved Deputy Commissioner informed the Div Com of each case’s current status. It was advised that the most of the problems had been fixed and that those still outstanding will be soon. The Div Com gave the DCs instructions to work with the Industries Department to resolve the outstanding land concerns. Additionally, it was requested that the employees of the Industries Department maintain contact with revenue officers and DCs in order to coordinate timely problem solving.The DCs in Samba, Kathua, Jammu, and Udhampur were given instructions by the Div Com to demarcate the designated land and turn it over to the Industries and Commerce Department for the construction of industrial estates. The DCs were also told to find a solution to the land disputes pertaining to the access roads to the sites. The Div Com also examined the roads to industrial estates, the water supply, and the power supply during this time. He gave the concerned DCs instructions to make sure that industrial estates have access to all facilities. MD JPDCL was tasked with resolving challenges relating to the supply of power to current industrial estates and looking into options for adequately supplying new industrial parks. The Div Com requested proactive planning from the District Administration and concerned departments to create a conducive environment for establishing more industries.
