JAMMU: According to J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina, the party’s ten thousand workers would embark on a “Gaon Chalo Abhiyan” campaign that will see them visit various rural and urban districts of the UT between February 8 and 10. In order to get to know the locals, these party workers will stay in a specific hamlet or Municipal Ward for at least 24 hours. In conversation with reporters were BJP vice president and programme in-charge Pawan Khajuria, former minister and National Executive Member (NEM) Priya Sethi, senior leader and programme co-incharge Sanjay Baru, and department head of media relations Balbir Ram Rattan. According to Ravinder Raina, the BJP will launch its massive nationwide “Gaon Chalo Abhiyan” campaign in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir from February 8 to 10. He said that every UT village in a rural area and every UT ward in an urban area would be covered by this programme. According to him, the party is deputing MPs, former ministers, State office bearers, former MPs, ex-MLAs and MLCs, former BDC Chairpersons, current DDC Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons, former VCs, DDC members, district office bearers, Morcha teams, Sarpanches, and Panches to ensure the successful execution of this massive exercise. According to Raina, the goal of the three-day campaign is to meet the locals, the people who have benefited from the schemes of the Modi government, leaders of non-BJP parties, Self Help Groups, NGOs, retired employees, the business community, and other notable individuals in a specific village or ward. While in the village or ward, party activists will gather input regarding the Central Government’s welfare programmes and how they affect the lives of the underprivileged and destitute. They will also gather suggestions—if any—for expanding the programmes’ reach. Additionally, they will present the public with the BJP’s report card and educate them on the need of voting for the party in the next elections in order for Narendra Modi to be re-elected to the prime minister position and to expedite the implementation of social programmes. According to Pawan Khajuria, the Modi administration has rewritten the nation’s history by making unconventional choices that have elevated India to the status of the Vishwa Guru. According to him, this is the first government to have truly worked for the welfare of all societal segments, regardless of their language, region, or religion, since independence.
