Baramulla, July 15: LG Sinha on Saturday said that no outsider was being given land under Pradhan Mantri’s Awas Yojna (PMAY) and those who grabbed state land illegally should stop misleading people.Speaking at a gathering in the Baramulla district in north Kashmir‘s Dak Bunglow, the LG claimed that many people had approached him saying they were eligible for the PMAY but lacked land.
Therefore, after reviewing the situation, the administration decided to grant these people 5 malras of land under the PMAY programme so they could build their own homes. For homeless families, 1,99500 dwellings have been approved thus far. The number includes 2711 people without land in addition to 46000 SC and ST category families who were eligible for the programme, he said. Sadly, some individuals are deceiving the populace by asserting that land is being distributed to outsiders. In J&K, no outsider is receiving land. The LG stated that those who took state land and built massive homes without using their own money should cease misleading the public without mentioning any political party or leader. These individuals ought to cease causing confusion. The LG declared, “I would not go into how they raised the funds to erect colossal palaces on unlawfully seized state property.
In addition, the LG opened a 100-seat multipurpose cinema at Maqbool Sherwani Hall in Baramulla. He claimed that Baramulla now boasts a 100-seat cinema after a 30-year absence. “This Cinema at Maqbool Sherwani hall Baramulla will not just be the source of entertainment but also a great source of learning for the youth who want to excel in education, technology, and art,” he said. The LG requested support from the populace by stating that while security forces and police are doing an excellent job, it is the duty of every single citizen to collectively contribute to J&K’s peace building. The LG stated that he was open to any recommendations for improving J&K’s economic situation. If there are political recommendations, I wasn’t interested in them in the past, and I won’t be interested in them going forward, he continued.
