JAMMU : An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted J&K on Sunday.According to officials, the earthquake’s epicentre was near the Afghan border. They said that preliminary information points to a 5.2-magnitude earthquake that occurred at a depth of 220 kilometres and had its epicentre near the Afghan border region at 71.13°E and 36.56°N. According to witnesses, the jolt caused residents of the Valley to hastily leave their houses. No one has yet reported a fatality or property damage from anywhere.
