JAMMU, Feb 4: Authorities in the Udhampur area of Jammu and Kashmir stated that a truck struck a car carrying a couple and their two kids, killing one of them and injuring the other early on Sunday. The Jammu family was en route to Kashmir. Shortly after midnight, the accident happened at Salore, near Tikri, on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, according to the officials. They added that Nitin Dogra (37), his wife Rittu (32) and kids Khushi (17) and Vani (11), died instantly when a carelessly driven truck struck their private vehicle and went on to clash with another truck. Brinda, 15, another daughter, sustained serious injuries.According to the officials, police have opened a case and begun a search for the negligent driver who left the site of the collision. Around five in the morning, authorities claimed, a truck driver who was not recognised died when his truck, which was carrying cows, slid off a bridge near Manwal in the Jhajjar Kotli neighbourhood of Jammu. According to them, more than a dozen cows perished in the collision as well. The truck was travelling from Jandrah to Manwal when it collapsed off the bridge close to Saunoo hamlet.
