Jammu, Sep 11: This year, 46 terrorists have been neutralised, of which 37 were foreigners, according to Northern Command Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, who stated on Monday that the bordering country is upset with the restoration of calm in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Army Commander told the reporters during the start of the three-day North Tech Symposium at IIT Jammu, “This is the first time, the number of terrorists killed in various operations across the region this year, the number of foreign terrorists was four times higher than locals.””From across the border, attempts are being made to disturb the peace in Jammu and Kashmir, but we will never permit it to happen,” he declared.
According to Lt Gen Dwivedi, 46 terrorists have been murdered in the past nine months, with nine of them being locals and 37 being foreigners.
Additionally, 29 of these terrorists were slain in Pir Panchal’s southern region, he continued.
He added that “inclusion of upgraded technology will benefit the Indian Army and further augment the Armed Forces,” noting that the Northern Command guards both the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the Line of Control (LOC).The Northern Command is always operationally prepared for the situation along the border, and according to him, the Indian Army is keeping watch along the LAC and the LOC as well. Because of operations, peace is returning to Jammu and Kashmir.
“Whenever peace returns, Pakistan is trying to disturb it,” he remarked in reference to the rising number of terrorist attacks in the Rajouri and Poonch districts.Foreign terrorists are being pushed into Indian territory despite Pakistan’s deteriorating internal situation, according to him, because there are virtually no local terrorists or people who support the neighbouring country there. Instead, residents of Jammu and Kashmir are fighting terrorism and supporting the security forces.
The Army Commander stated that all of the top commanders of various terror organisations have been eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir, frustrating Pakistan, and that terrorists trying to infiltrate are now being neutralised on the border only and their attempts are being successfully thwarted.
