JAMMU, Oct 2: In the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police seized 30 kilogrammes of heroin worth crores of rupees from a car headed for Punjab, according to officials. Following the recovery from the Banihal area along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, two suspected drug smugglers were detained, according to the officials. They claimed that the heroin was being transported from north Kashmir to Punjab by border smugglers. The private vehicle was stopped and recovered by a police team led by Banihal Station House Officer Mohammad Afzal Wani, according to the officials. (Agencies)
