Baramulla, Nov 26: According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, they have seized weapons, ammunition, and other incriminating materials from the possession of three terrorist associates connected to the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba in the Baramulla district. Two suspected individuals travelling from Kamalkote towards NHW carrying bags were stopped on November 25 during joint Naka checking and patrolling with 13 SIKHLI, 185 BN BSF, and Baramulla Police at Kalgai near Jhula Foot Bridge. They were identified as Mohammad Naseem Khanday, son of Abdul Majeed Khanday and Zameer Ahmad Khanday, residents of Madiyan Kamalkote.Three Chinese grenades and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash were found from them during the search. In light of this, a formal complaint was filed at Police Station Uri in accordance with the applicable statutes. Under intense interrogation, the two accused admitted that Manzoor Ahmad Bhatti, the son of Karam Din Bhatti, a Madiyan Kamalkote resident, had given them the cash and illegally obtained grenades so they could carry out any terrorist act. Manzoor Ahmad Bhatti was therefore selected for interrogation. He revealed during interrogation that he had given these people cash and illegally obtained grenades to be used in terrorist attacks. He also revealed that he had kept cash and one hand grenade at a known location close to his home. As a result of his revelation, one Chinese hand grenade and Rs 2.17 lakh in cash were found. In the current case, he too was taken into custody. Additional research is currently underway.
