2 Chinese nationals arrested in Bihar for entering India without valid documents

PATNA: officials said on Sunday that 2 Chinese nationals were arrested in Bihar’s East Champaran district for allegedly entering India through Nepal without valid documents.Assistant Foreigner Regional Registration Officer SK Singh said that they were taken into custody on Saturday night at the Raxaul border outpost. The foreigners revealed themselves as Zhao Jing and Fu Con from the Chinese region of Jaoxing during questioning, he claimed. He said, “They were discovered to be travelling without appropriate documentation and claimed to have abandoned their passports in a hotel in Birganj, directly across the border, where they had slept the night before.According to Singh, they attempted to cross the border on foot after arriving at the border in an autorickshaw. He stated that according to records, the Chinese nationals attempted to enter Indian territory without valid documentation on July 2 when they claimed to have done so unintentionally. At that point, they were released, and the official stamped “entry refused” on their returned passports. “Their repeated attempts to enter the area raise suspicions.”. As a result, they were given to the local police for additional inquiry and action, he said.
