New Delhi, Dec 9:The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 44 locations in Karnataka and Maharashtra on Saturday, leading to the arrest of 13 persons in connection with the ISIS terror conspiracy case from Pune, Maharashtra. According to sources, the anti-terror agency detectives worked closely with the Maharashtra and Karnataka police forces to raid these locations. The agency detectives searched one location in Karnataka, two in Pune, 31 in Thane Rural, nine in Thane City, and one in Bhayander out of the 44 locations they have been raiding since this morning, they said.The case concerns a criminal conspiracy hatched by the accused and those close to them who formed a terrorist gang and vowed allegiance to the violent extremist ideology of banned terrorist groups, such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS. In addition to offering religious instruction, the terrorist groups enlisted like-minded young people into their ranks in order to carry out violent jihad and impose Islamic law in India.
