SAMBA: In the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night, a mortar shell exploded, injuring one person and killing another, according to officials. As a result of someone tinkering with an ancient mortar shell that they had taken from a forest, they claimed, the Sumb area exploded. According to the police, the injured party is now in the hospital. According to Samba Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Benam Tosh, the issue has to do with tampering with a mortar shell that was taken from a forested area. He mentioned that there had been an earlier incident of a similar nature in the area. According to the SSP, an investigation is underway.
