{"id":8790,"date":"2024-01-11T12:09:46","date_gmt":"2024-01-11T12:09:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=8790"},"modified":"2024-01-11T12:09:46","modified_gmt":"2024-01-11T12:09:46","slug":"net-direct-tax-collection-grows-19-pc-so-far-in-fy24-to-rs-14-70-lac-cr-81-pc-of-budget-target","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/net-direct-tax-collection-grows-19-pc-so-far-in-fy24-to-rs-14-70-lac-cr-81-pc-of-budget-target\/","title":{"rendered":"Net Direct Tax Collection Grows 19 Pc So Far In FY\u201924 To Rs 14.70 Lac Cr, 81 Pc Of Budget Target"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI, Jan 11: The <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/dr-abid-rasheed-visits-gmc-jammu-assesses-medical-care-facilities\/\">Government<\/a> has budgeted to collect Rs 18.23 lakh crore from direct taxes (personal <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/cash-seizure-in-odisha-i-t-raids-goes-past-rs-300-cr-counting-still-on\/\">income tax<\/a> and corporate tax), 9.75 per cent higher than Rs 16.61 lakh crore mopped up last fiscal.<br \/>\n\u201dDirect <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/govt-to-stick-to-rs-33-61-lac-cr-tax-collection-target-in-revised-estimate-no-case-for-fuel-tax-cut-official\/\">Tax collection<\/a>, net of refunds, stands at Rs 14.70 lakh crore which is 19.41 per cent higher than the net collection for the corresponding period of last year. This collection is 80.61 per cent of the total <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/pm-doesnt-say-a-word-about-caste-census-rahul-reiterates-caste-census-vow-in-mp\/\">Budget<\/a> Estimates of Direct Taxes for FY 2023-24,\u201d the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement.<br \/>\nRefunds amounting to Rs 2.48 lakh crore have been issued during April 1, 2023 to January 10, 2024.<br \/>\nOn a gross basis, direct tax collection up to January 10, 2024 registered steady growth.<br \/>\nThe gross collections are at Rs 17.18 lakh crore, 16.77 per cent higher than the gross collection for the corresponding period of last year.<br \/>\nThe growth rate in gross Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Personal Income Tax (PIT) is 8.32 per cent and 26.11 per cent respectively.<br \/>\nAfter adjustment of refunds, the net growth in CIT collections is 12.37 per cent and that in PIT collections is 27.26 per cent.
