JAMMU: The\u00a0<\/span>project\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>build\u00a0<\/span><\/span>nallahs\u00a0<\/span><\/span>on\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>right\u00a0<\/span><\/span>bank\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Tawi\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a>River<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>from\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Peerkho\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Main\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Dhounthly\u00a0<\/span><\/span>was\u00a0<\/span>approved\u00a0<\/span><\/span>by\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Administrative\u00a0<\/span><\/a>Council<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>(AC),\u00a0<\/span><\/span>which\u00a0<\/span><\/span>met\u00a0<\/span><\/span>here\u00a0<\/span><\/span>under\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>direction\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Lieutenant\u00a0<\/span>Governor\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Manoj\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a>Sinha<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The\u00a0<\/span><\/span>project\u00a0<\/span><\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>estimated\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>cost\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Rs.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>26.87\u00a0<\/span><\/span>crores\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>be\u00a0<\/span><\/span>funded\u00a0<\/span><\/span>through\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Capex\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Budget.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Attending\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>meeting\u00a0<\/span><\/span>were\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Mandeep\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Kumar\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Bhandari,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Lieutenant\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Governor’s\u00a0<\/span><\/span>principal\u00a0<\/span><\/span>secretary,\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/span>Atal\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a>Dulloo<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>chief\u00a0<\/span><\/span>secretary,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Rajeev\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Rai\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Bhatnagar,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>advisor.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>The\u00a0<\/span>project\u00a0<\/span><\/span>was\u00a0<\/span>created\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>accordance\u00a0<\/span><\/span>with\u00a0<\/span><\/span>guidelines\u00a0<\/span><\/span>provided\u00a0<\/span>by\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Central\u00a0<\/span>Pollution\u00a0<\/span>Control\u00a0<\/span>Board\u00a0<\/span>(CPCB)\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>National\u00a0<\/span>Green\u00a0<\/span>Tribunal\u00a0<\/span>(NGT)\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>reducing\u00a0<\/span><\/span>pollution\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Tawi\u00a0<\/span><\/span>River\u00a0<\/span><\/span>by\u00a0<\/span><\/span>treating\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>diverting\u00a0<\/span><\/span>untreated\u00a0<\/span>wastewater\u00a0<\/span><\/span>that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>would\u00a0<\/span>otherwise\u00a0<\/span>fall\u00a0<\/span><\/span>into\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>river\u00a0<\/span><\/span>from\u00a0<\/span><\/span>storm\u00a0<\/span>water\u00a0<\/span><\/span>drains.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>In\u00a0<\/span><\/span>addition\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>guaranteeing\u00a0<\/span><\/span>compliance\u00a0<\/span><\/span>with\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>directives\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>NGT\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>CPCB\u00a0<\/span><\/span>regarding\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mitigation\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>pollution\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>River\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Tawi\u00a0<\/span><\/span>here,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>this\u00a0<\/span><\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>ensure\u00a0<\/span><\/span>proper\u00a0<\/span>drainage\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>sewerage\u00a0<\/span><\/span>network\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>area,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>which\u00a0<\/span><\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>directly\u00a0<\/span>benefit\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>households\/local\u00a0<\/span><\/span>inhabitants.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
