JAMMU: The Election Department of Jammu and Kashmir will conduct a two-day Special Intensive Voter Enrolment Drive across the Union Territory on October 10 and 11, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sanjeev Verma announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The drive will be held at all polling stations across J&K from 9 am to 5 pm on both days, giving eligible citizens an opportunity to enrol as voters and update or correct their electoral particulars.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made during a review meeting chaired by the CEO with District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to finalise arrangements for the initiative.<\/p>\n

Verma directed the election machinery to undertake extensive outreach and ensure effective facilitation so that no eligible citizen remains outside the electoral rolls.<\/p>\n

As part of the initiative, weekend voter enrolment and facilitation drives will be organised regularly, allowing citizens to approach their nearest polling station for enrolment and updation of electoral details.<\/p>\n

During the October 10-11 drive, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will remain available at all polling stations to assist citizens with Forms 6, 7 and 8 for enrolment, deletion and correction or updation of electoral details. Assistance will be available for both physical submission of forms and digital submission through the Voter Helpline App.<\/p>\n

The CEO also directed BLOs to conduct door-to-door outreach to identify eligible citizens who may have been left out of the electoral rolls, with particular focus on youth, first-time voters, women and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).<\/p>\n

Verma urged all eligible citizens to visit their nearest polling station on October 10 or 11 and avail themselves of the enrolment and facilitation services.<\/p>\n

The Election Department said the initiative is aimed at making voter enrolment more accessible at the grassroots level and ensuring that electoral rolls remain complete, accurate and inclusive.<\/p>\n
