<\/p>\nSRINAGAR, June 27: In a major action against alleged corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday attached residential property, multiple land parcels and nearly 1.26 kilograms of gold ornaments belonging to a former Naazir posted in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.<\/p>\n
The attached assets belong to Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Late Gh. Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Firdousabad Batamaloo, Srinagar, who was serving as Naazir in the Deputy Commissioner\u2019s office. The action has been taken in connection with FIR No. 09\/2025 registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar.<\/p>\n
The attached properties include a single-storey tin-roofed residential house along with 6 marlas and 172 square feet of land situated at Firdousabad, Batamaloo, jointly owned by the accused and his spouse.<\/p>\n
The ACB also attached 10 marlas of land at Nambal, Nowgam, recorded in the name of the accused\u2019s daughter, besides another 4 marlas and 136 square feet of land and 8 marlas and 136 square feet of land, both registered in the name of his wife.<\/p>\n
In addition, gold ornaments weighing approximately 1,266 grams, which had been seized during the course of investigation, have also been attached as part of the proceedings.<\/p>\n
The statement said the case was registered on May 22, 2025, following a secret verification which revealed allegations that the accused had amassed assets far beyond his known lawful sources of income.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, ACB teams conducted searches at the accused\u2019s residence and recovered valuable assets, including gold ornaments, copper utensils and several luxury items, which were subsequently seized. The accused was taken into custody during the investigation and is presently on bail under court orders.<\/p>\n
Further investigation, the ACB said, established that the public servant had allegedly accumulated substantial movable and immovable assets disproportionate to his legitimate income.<\/p>\n
Following approval from the competent authority, the ACB constituted two teams headed by Deputy Superintendents of Police to execute the attachment proceedings at Batamaloo and Nowgam.<\/p>\n
After completing all legal formalities, the identified properties were formally attached on the spot, and signboards were installed at the locations notifying the public about the attachment.<\/p>\n
The Anti-Corruption Bureau has appealed to the general public not to purchase, transfer, exchange or enter into any transaction involving the attached house or land, warning that the properties remain under legal attachment as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n
