JAMMU: Army personnel detained a 14-year-old boy from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) after he allegedly crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and entered Indian territory in Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s Poonch district on Tuesday evening, officials said.<\/p>\n

According to officials, the boy, identified as Javed Ali, was detained around 7 pm near the LoC in the Gulpur sector of Poonch district.<\/p>\n

\u201cJaved Ali from Tetrinote in PoK was detained near the LoC in Gulpur sector, Poonch,\u201d an official said.<\/p>\n

Preliminary investigations suggested that the teenager may have inadvertently crossed into Indian territory. Security agencies have launched inquiries to determine the exact circumstances that led to his crossing of the border.<\/p>\n

Following his detention, Javed Ali was taken into custody for questioning. Officials said the investigation is aimed at ascertaining whether the crossing was accidental or if there were any other factors involved.<\/p>\n

Sources said that after initial questioning by the Army, the boy was handed over to the Jullas police post in Poonch for further proceedings.<\/p>\n

Officials indicated that Javed Ali is likely to be repatriated to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after the completion of the investigation and verification process.<\/p>\n

The incident comes amid heightened vigilance along the Line of Control, where security forces maintain strict surveillance to prevent unauthorized cross-border movement.<\/p>\n
