Srinagar, May 12: In a major crackdown under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Monday attached a residential house and land worth nearly \u20b91.2 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in the Gasoo Hazratbal area of Srinagar.
\nOfficials said the attached property includes a double-storeyed residential house along with land owned by Maqsood Hussain Khan, son of Abdul Majeed Khan, a resident of Banday Lane Hazratbal and presently residing at Gasoo Hazratbal.
\nPolice said the action was carried out by Police Station Nigeen under Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985 in connection with FIR No. 42\/2023 registered under Sections 8\/20, 21, 29 NDPS Act at Police Station Nigeen and FIR No. 20\/2025 under Section 8\/21 NDPS Act at Police Station Ganderbal.
\nDuring investigation, the property was found to be illegally acquired through proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities, officials said.
\nPolice added that the attachment order restrains the owner from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the said property.
\nSrinagar Police reiterated its commitment to eliminating the drug menace from society and said strict action will continue against individuals involved in narcotics trafficking. Police also appealed to the public to cooperate and share information related to drug peddling to help make society drug-free.<\/p>\n
