WASHINGTON, Apr 8: U.S. President Donald Trump said he has agreed \u201cto \u200bsuspend the bombing \u2060and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks.\u201d Mr. Trump said he \u200cspoke to leaders in Pakistan, which has \u200cbeen a mediator between Washington \u200cand \u2060Tehran and which \u2060had sought a two-week ceasefire in the Iran war.
\n\u201cBased on conversations with Prime \u200bMinister Shehbaz \u200cSharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold \u200coff the destructive force \u200bbeing sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the \u2060Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and \u200cSAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks,\u201d \u200cMr. Trump wrote on social media.
\n\u201cThis \u200bwill be a double sided CEASEFIRE,\u201d Mr. Trump said.
\nMr. Trump \u2060said the U.S. has received \u2060a 10 point proposal from Iran, and \u201cbelieve it is \u200ca workable basis on which to negotiate.\u201d<\/p>\n
