JAMMU, Feb 27: The Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu, Sonia Gupta has framed charges against five accused including the then In-charge Tehsildar Nagrota Rajesh Kumar and then In-charge Patwar Halqa Dhami Riaz Ahmed Malik in an ACB case alleging illegal sale of State land near the National Highway, Nagrota, by use of manipulated revenue extracts and a non-existing mutation, causing wrongful gain to private beneficiaries and loss to the State.
\nAs per the case record, the ACB verification and investigation alleged that the land in question described as prime land near Jagti\/Nagrota worth crores was projected as privately owned and sold through registered documents and mutations, despite being largely State land.
\nAfter hearing both sides on the question of charge, the court held that there is prima facie material to proceed, and ordered that accused Rajesh Kumar, Riaz Ahmed Malik, Balwant Raj, Narinder Singh and Parth Singh be charged for offences under Sections 5(1)(d) & 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act (Svt. 2006) read with Sections 467, 468, 471, 201 & 120-B RPC.
\nThe accused pleaded not guilty and claimed trial, and the matter has been listed for prosecution evidence on April 2, 2026.The UT was represented by APP M A Almansoor. Advocate Prem Sadotra, Advocate K S, Advocate Narinder Attri and Advocate Azar Usman Khan appeared for the accused.<\/p>\n
