NEW DELHI: A man from Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir has been arrested near the Red Fort in Delhi for allegedly impersonating an official of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and luring a minor boy to the national capital on the pretext of offering him a job.<\/p>\n

According to Delhi Police, the accused was apprehended on February 18 when a patrol team from Police Station Kotwali noticed a black car parked behind the Red Fort near Delhi Chalo Park. Upon inspection, officers found two individuals inside the vehicle \u2014 Mudassar, a resident of Pulwama in J&K, and a minor boy.<\/p>\n

During questioning, the accused produced an identity card purportedly issued by the NIA. However, the document appeared suspicious, prompting further verification. Preliminary investigation revealed that Mudassar had allegedly been targeting economically vulnerable families by promising employment opportunities in Delhi in exchange for money.<\/p>\n

Police said he had taken an advance payment from the minor\u2019s family after assuring them that he would arrange a job for the boy in the capital.<\/p>\n

A case has been registered at Police Station Kotwali under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway, officials said.<\/p>\n
