SRINAGAR: In a major breakthrough against fraud and economic offences, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet in a high-profile fake jobs and land allotment scam, exposing how a government employee allegedly cheated unemployed youth and poor families by issuing forged appointment and allotment orders.<\/p>\n

According to an official statement, the EOW has submitted a chargesheet in FIR No. 54\/2023 under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC before the Court of the 4th Additional Munsiff Judge, Srinagar. The chargesheet names Fouzia Afzal, daughter of Mohd Afzal Magray and resident of Rehmatullah Colony, Sector-B, Fruit Mandi, Parimpora, Srinagar, as the accused.<\/p>\n

The case originated from a complaint alleging that the accused, a Class-IV employee posted in the office of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, indulged in serious criminal misconduct by issuing fake allotment orders for shops and plots. During the investigation, it was revealed that the forged documents carried fabricated signatures of the Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and a fake seal of the District Magistrate, Srinagar.<\/p>\n

Following the complaint, EOW Kashmir launched a detailed probe, which revealed that the accused had allegedly duped several innocent poor persons and unemployed youth of lakhs of rupees. Victims were lured on the false promise of allotment of shops at Jehangir Chowk, 5-marla residential plots at Bemina, and appointment orders for Junior Assistant posts in various government departments.<\/p>\n

To make the fraud appear genuine, forged allotment orders and appointment letters bearing fake signatures and seals were supplied to the victims, the statement added.<\/p>\n
