JAMMU: In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience, the Jammu Railway Division on Friday announced that the Srinagar\u2013Katra Vande Bharat Express will have a scheduled halt at Reasi Railway Station starting October 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

At present, the semi-high-speed train makes only one stop between Katra and Srinagar \u2014 at Banihal. With the new arrangement, the train will now halt at Reasi for two minutes in both directions.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo enhance passenger convenience and address local demand, train number 26401\/26402 Srinagar\u2013Katra Vande Bharat Express will stop at Reasi Railway Station from October 29,\u201d said Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Jammu Railway Division.<\/p>\n

The Katra\u2013Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025, marked a historic milestone as the first train service connecting the Kashmir Valley with the Jammu region. Since its launch, the service has earned widespread appreciation for its speed, comfort, and reliability.<\/p>\n

The new stop at Reasi comes in response to persistent local demand for better regional connectivity. \u201cThe stoppage aims to cater to the growing passenger demand from Reasi district, which is a major religious and tourist destination due to its proximity to the Vaishno Devi shrine and the world\u2019s highest railway bridge \u2014 the Chenab Bridge,\u201d Singhal added.<\/p>\n

Passengers have been advised to check the official Indian Railways website, helpline 139, or NTES for updated train schedules before travel.<\/p>\n
