{"id":29408,"date":"2025-05-28T08:48:31","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T08:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=29408"},"modified":"2025-05-28T08:48:31","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T08:48:31","slug":"punjab-fazilka-ssp-suspended-after-4-cops-arrested-in-bribery-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/punjab-fazilka-ssp-suspended-after-4-cops-arrested-in-bribery-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab: Fazilka SSP Suspended After 4 Cops Arrested In Bribery Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chandigarh, May 28: The Punjab government on Wednesday suspended Fazilka Senior Superintendent of Police Varinder Singh Brar, a day after four police officers were arrested in a bribery case, sources said.<br \/>\nA station house officer and three other police personnel were arrested in Fazilka on Tuesday for allegedly accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe.<br \/>\nThe case came to light when Dharminder Singh, father of a 17-year-old boy, approached Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann with \u201cevidence\u201d of bribe demands by the Cyber Crime Police Station, Fazilka.<br \/>\nThe station had confiscated the minor\u2019s phone following a complaint.<br \/>\nDespite repeated attempts by the family to resolve the issue, they were forced to pay bribe to settle the matter.<br \/>\nThe arrested officials include the SHO, a reader, and two constables.<br \/>\nPunjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday had reiterated the government\u2019s zero-tolerance policy against corruption.<br \/>\n\u201cThis case highlights the firm resolve of the Punjab government to root out corruption.
