{"id":28705,"date":"2025-04-30T07:10:30","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T07:10:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=28705"},"modified":"2025-04-30T07:10:30","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T07:10:30","slug":"mirwaiz-urges-people-to-trust-kashmiris-ensure-locals-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/mirwaiz-urges-people-to-trust-kashmiris-ensure-locals-safety\/","title":{"rendered":"Mirwaiz urges people to trust Kashmiris, ensure locals\u2019 safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SRINAGAR, Apr 30: Kashmir\u2019s chief cleric and Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday urged the people of India not to fall prey to \u201chatred and media propaganda\u201d creating mistrust of Kashmiris and reciprocate in ensuring their safety.<br \/>\nMirwaiz was responding to a report which revealed that at least 16 shawl sellers from Kashmir left Mussoorie after two vendors were allegedly attacked by locals last week .<br \/>\n\u201cThe physical and verbal assault on Kashmiri shawl vendors in Mussoorie, who had to flee when police refused to guarantee their safety, is very disturbing,\u201d he said in a post on X.<br \/>\n\u201d After large-scale detentions, demolition of homes, and crackdowns inside Kashmir, ordinary citizens, students, and small traders outside of J&amp;K are being attacked and forced to return,\u201d Mirwaiz added.<br \/>\nThe Kashmir\u2019s chief cleric said that Kashmiris were themselves at the receiving end of all forms of violence and subsequent suffering for decades.<br \/>\n\u201d Kashmiris\u2019 condemnation, empathy, and grief for the victims of the Pahalgam bloodbath is straight from the heart, yet they are being vilified and targeted,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201d I appeal to the people of India not to fall prey to hatred and media propaganda creating mistrust of Kashmiris, and reciprocate in ensuring their safety, as they have always done in times of crisis towards all visitors and tourists.
