JAMMU, Dec 16: Former Jammu and Kashmir<\/a> Minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar on Monday demanded the recruitment age criteria for Sub Inspector posts in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
\nHe emphasized the need to revise the age eligibility from the current range of 18 to 28 years to a more practical range of 21 to 31 years.
\nAnd, this should be implemented from the ongoing recruitment process of Sub Inspectors posts.
\nAddressing a press conference here at party headquarters, Choudhary pointed out that individuals are typically not graduates by the age of 18, which is a necessary qualification for the role. From 2010 onwards the education qualification was changed to graduation from class 12, but the age minimum age remained 18 years. This too needed to be upscaled. Recently 1200 positions were filled but no one pointed out this. \u201cNow this strike to my mind and I have assured the aspirants that I will take up the matter with the J&K UT administration,\u201d he told reporters.
\nThis change, he argued, would provide more realistic opportunities for aspiring candidates who meet the educational and age requirements.
\nHe has called for revising the age criteria for Sub Inspector recruitment in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
\nHe suggested modifying the current age range of 18 to 28 years to 21 to 31 years, citing that most candidates are not graduates at the age of 18, which is a prerequisite for the position.He further appreciated the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, for his proactive approach in addressing issues concerning the youth, particularly the unemployed. Sukhnandan highlighted that students have already been demanding age relaxation, and implementing this rectification would resolve their concerns comprehensively.<\/p>\n
