JAMMU, OCTOBER 29: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar<\/a> today convened a meeting to review the preparations for OMR based exam being conducted by J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) to fill constable posts in three categories.
\nThe posts to be filled are Armed, IRP, Executive, SDRF falling under one category and Telecommunication and Photographer being two other categories.
\nThe meeting was attended by Chairperson JKSSB Indu Kanwal Chib, SP HeadQuarter Jammu and other concerned officers, while Deputy Commissioners along with SSPs of Jammu division districts participated in through video conferencing.
\nThe meeting discussed measures to be taken at different levels to ensure fair and smooth conduct of the exams.
\nWhile giving details, the Chairperson JKSSB informed that the Board has initiated the process for conducting OMR based examination for selection against Constable Posts in Home Department. It was further informed that more than 5 lakh candidates from across J&K have applied and more than 3 lakh applicants are expected to appear in Jammu division.
\nThe Div Com directed DCs to identify centres keeping in view the huge number of applicants appearing in the exam.
\nThe tentative exam dates have been fixed as December 1, 2024 for category one, Dec 8 for category 2 and Dec 22, 2024 for category three.
\nHe stressed on putting in all possible measures for foolproof security, maintenance of law and order, provision of logistic support for successful conduct of examinations.
\nThe SSPs were directed to deploy an adequate number of men and women police personnel for frisking and other arrangements at each centre.
\nThe Div Com also directed DCs concerned to make available adequate arrangements of uninterrupted power supply, water supply and other amenities in the examination centres during the examinations and ensure that the candidates are not put to any discomfort.
\nThe Div Com directed DCs to nominate observers\/magistrates for each centre.<\/p>\n
