{"id":2351,"date":"2023-09-02T12:07:26","date_gmt":"2023-09-02T12:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=2351"},"modified":"2023-09-02T12:07:26","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T12:07:26","slug":"agriculture-department-to-be-set-up-in-uni-of-ladakh-lg-mishra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/agriculture-department-to-be-set-up-in-uni-of-ladakh-lg-mishra\/","title":{"rendered":"Agriculture Department To Be Set Up In Uni Of Ladakh: LG Mishra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leh, Sept 2: An official announced on Saturday that<a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/miss-world-other-international-beauty-pageant-winners-call-on-lg\/\"> Lieutenant Governor<\/a> Brigadier (Retd) <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/army-chief-calls-on-lg-ladakh-discusses-lac-situation\/\">B D Mishra<\/a> has planned to establish an agriculture department at the University of <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/9-army-soldiers-lost-their-lives-after-vehicle-falls-into-gorge-in-leh\/\">Ladakh<\/a> and move several SKUAST units there.<br \/>\nAn official spokeswoman stated that Mishra made the choice during a meeting held at the Raj Niwas in this city to discuss the transfer of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology&#8217;s (SKUAST) assets.<br \/>\nAccording to the spokesperson, the Lt. Governor agreed that the University of <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/in-many-ways-rahuls-ladakh-yatra-is-continuation-of-bharat-jodo-yatra-congress\/\">Ladakh<\/a> would affiliate with SKUAST Kashmir and establish a full-fledged agriculture department.<br \/>\nAdditionally, Mishra decided that various SKUAST units in Ladakh will be transferred to the university&#8217;s agriculture programme.He gave the University of Ladakh&#8217;s Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. K. Mehta, instructions to hasten the establishment of the agriculture department.<br \/>\nPadma Angmo, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education, Ladakh, made the suggestion that SKUAST turn over the property and the positions to Ladakh&#8217;s government.<br \/>\nProf. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, vice chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir, gave a presentation to the group about the institution and its location in the Union Territory.<br \/>\nHe said that during the previous state of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh had six SKUAST units, two Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and two research institutes.<br \/>\nIn August 2019, Ladakh was separated from the former state of Jammu &amp; Kashmir and given the status of a Union Territory.Jammu and Kashmir also lost its special status granted by Article 370 and became a Union Territory.<br \/>\nGania reported that six university departments had 45 open non-technical positions that are only available to people from Ladakh.<br \/>\nWhen Ladakh University&#8217;s Agriculture Department is fully operational, it will take over SKUAST-Kashmir&#8217;s assets, the spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2352\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2352\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2352\" src=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Screenshot-2023-09-02-at-5.35.27-PM-300x172.png\" alt=\"Agriculture Department To Be Set Up In Uni Of Ladakh: LG Mishra\" width=\"300\" height=\"172\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2352\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Agriculture Department To Be Set Up In Uni Of Ladakh: LG Mishra<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leh, Sept 2: An official announced on Saturday that Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Retd) B D Mishra has planned to establish an agriculture department at the University of Ladakh and move several SKUAST units there.
