New Delhi, Jun 2: Rajnath Singh<\/a> said on Friday that tremendous strength comes with great responsibility in order to underline that India<\/a>‘s responsibilities will expand in tandem with its rising global status. He used a famous dialogue from the Hollywood blockbuster “Spiderman” to make this point.In a speech given to a separate audience, Singh stated that when India rises to superpower status, it will be required to ensure that universal values like democracy, religious freedom, human dignity, and world peace be respected everywhere.
\nThe government<\/a> is trying to create a developed India by 2047, according to the defence minister, with a focus on practically all areas of the economy.Speaking about the nation’s political landscape, Singh asserted that without political parties, democracy would be doomed to failure. He lamented the fact that many political parties in India don’t operate according to any particular ideology and instead centre their policies on particular individuals, families, or castes.
\nSuch politics, in my opinion, should not exist in a developed India. Speaking at the Times Network’s India Economic Conclave, he emphasised that politics should be founded on ideas and ideals rather than on the basis of family, religion, and caste.”If I were to discuss India’s political future, I would like to see our democracy enhanced in a similar manner as we advance. Politics should no longer be criminalised, and our nation should proceed with credible politics. He argued that politics should be viewed as a form of public service. The defence minister also discussed social progress, saying that he envisions an India in which there is no prejudice of any type in the community.”If we’re talking about India’s social growth, I picture a country without any form of social inequality. The Constitution still stipulates that there shall be no discrimination in the nation based on factors such as gender, caste, or religion. But this notion shouldn’t be as advanced as it is in our sophisticated India, he remarked.
\nSingh also emphasised how efforts are being made to elevate India’s cultural identity, as well as the country’s overall success under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, notably in the economic realm.I want to see the same India in the future where it has cultural sovereignty, and we are continually working to elevate India’s cultural identity, he added.
\n“There are certain universal truths that are applicable to everyone, not just one nation. Our obligation as a developed India will go much beyond this. With great power comes great responsibility, as you surely have heard from the Spiderman movie, Singh remarked.”We will have to make sure that universal ideals like democracy, religious freedom, human dignity, and world peace are established all throughout the world when we emerge as a super power. Yes, we also need to remember that we shouldn’t force our opinions on others, the speaker continued.
\nSingh also emphasised the government’s initiatives to increase domestic defence production so that the Indian armed forces can deploy cutting-edge weaponry created in the nation.He claimed that domestic defence output in India now exceeds one trillion rupees annually.
\n“If I’m talking about exports, seven to eight years ago, the export of defence equipment was not even $1 billion. It is now worth almost Rs 16,000 crore,” he said.<\/p>\n
