{"id":1965,"date":"2023-08-17T08:16:10","date_gmt":"2023-08-17T08:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=1965"},"modified":"2023-08-17T08:16:10","modified_gmt":"2023-08-17T08:16:10","slug":"ips-officer-suspended-for-misbehaving-with-woman-in-goa-night-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/ips-officer-suspended-for-misbehaving-with-woman-in-goa-night-club\/","title":{"rendered":"IPS Officer Suspended For \u2018Misbehaving\u2019 With Woman In Goa Night Club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI, Aug 17: An<a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/fake-ias-ips-officers-arrested\/\"> Indian Police Service<\/a> (IPS) officer assigned to Goa has been suspended by the Union home ministry following charges that he misbehaved with a <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/amit-shah-for-first-time-marrying-a-woman-after-concealing-identity-to-be-crime-under-proposed-law\/\">woman<\/a> at a nightclub there last week, according to official sources.<br \/>\nThe order released on Wednesday stated that A Koan, an IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre from the 2009 batch, has been suspended &#8220;immediately&#8221; while departmental procedures against him are being considered.<br \/>\nAccording to reports, the order was given by the <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/independence-day-954-police-personnel-receive-service-medals\/\">Ministry of Home Affairs<\/a> (MHA), which oversees the cadre of IPS personnel, after receiving a preliminary investigation report from the Goa government.The officer would remain assigned to the state police headquarters and &#8220;shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining the prior permission of the competent authority&#8221; while the suspension order was in effect, according to the statement.<br \/>\nThe Goa government had already removed the deputy inspector general (DIG) rank officer of his duties and instructed him to report to the state director general of police (DGP).<br \/>\nPramod Sawant, the chief minister, promised to take harsh action against the officer.<\/p>\n<p>Vijai Sardesai, an MLA for the Goa Forward Party (GFP), has also brought up the issue in the state assembly.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1966\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1966\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1966\" src=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Screenshot-2023-08-17-at-1.43.31-PM-300x108.png\" alt=\"IPS Officer Suspended For \u2018Misbehaving\u2019 With Woman In Goa Night Club\" width=\"300\" height=\"108\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1966\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">IPS Officer Suspended For \u2018Misbehaving\u2019 With Woman In Goa Night Club<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI, Aug 17: An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer assigned to Goa has been suspended by the Union home ministry following charges that he misbehaved with a woman at a nightclub there last week, according to official sources.
