June 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha<\/a> today said stone pelting and hartals have become a history in Kashmir and schools, colleges and Universities remain open throughout the year while during last four years more than 40,000 youth have been employed in the Government services in the Union Territory.
\nAddressing the gathering of young start-ups and youngsters at SKICC Srinagar this evening, Sinha said the youth are chasing their dreams with zeal in the fields of sports, business and innovations. They are taking part in sport events in large numbers and becoming part of Naya Kashmir.
\n\u201cThere is no stone pelting taking place in Kashmir now and hartals are a history,\u2019\u2019 he said.
\nShowering praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a>, he said it was due to Modi\u2019s leadership that Jammu and Kashmir youth replaced stones with the innovative tools.
\nThe Lieutenant Governor said that more than 40,000 youth were employed in the Government services during past four years. During this period, multifaceted strategies have led to notable advancements in youth entrepreneurship, he added.
\n\u201cWe are working with dedication to unlock the potential of our youth so that they can contribute towards inclusive growth and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir,\u2019\u2019 Sinha said.
\nHe said he was glad to have the world\u2019s most loved leader in Srinagar.
\n\u201cI welcome Narendra Modi by heart and congratulate him for becoming the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. The mandate he has got is unique. It is after 60 years, that people of India have elected a Government for the third straight time,\u201d the Lieutenant Governor<\/a> said.
\nSinha said that only three months ago, PM Modi inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs 39000 Crore in Srinagar.
\nHe expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for gracing inaugural ceremony of \u2018Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K\u2019 and dedicating a host of projects in critical sectors like Water, Roadways, Health, Agriculture etc.
\n\u201cUnder the guidance of the Prime Minister, Jammu and Kashmir administration is empowering youth with skills for Viksit Bharat. Today, higher education institutions and Government agencies are providing them with the necessary resources, opportunities and support to realize their full potential and contribute to the nation building,\u2019\u2019 the Lieutenant Governor said.
\nHe said in the pursuit of building a bright and empowered future for our young generation, the UT administration has undertaken a series of ambitious initiatives focused on skill development, innovation, research and providing them all necessary support to build Startups.<\/p>\n
