Manik Slathia, Shashi Kant, and Shilpa Charak were the other climbers to reach the top of Kang Yatse peak. Sonam Sidharth, the team&#8217;s fifth member, was in terrible health and was unable to try the peak. Earlier, on August 1, 2023, Anil Goswami, a former home secretary for <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/body-of-missing-italian-trekker-found-in-ladakh\/\">India,<\/a> flagged the team off in Jammu towards <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/army-chief-calls-on-lg-ladakh-discusses-lac-situation\/\">Leh<\/a>. The crew moved to the mountain for serious acclimatisation with ascent treks after only two days of light acclimatisation in Leh. According to the statement, the crew travelled for roughly 20 km on the first day from Skiu, the end of the road, to Markha valley, where they set up camp for the first time during the adventure. They travelled 15 kilometres the following day to reach Hunker, which is located at an elevation of roughly 4000 metres. On the third day, the crew hiked 13 kilometres across difficult terrain to reach Nimaling (5000 metres), gaining 1000 metres in height. The team stopped for two days and completed their final height-gaining workout at Nimaling.It was chosen to attempt the peak at night since the long, difficult route\u2014which climbs steeply above the base camp on soft snow and rough rocks\u2014to the summit&#8217;s 6250-meter elevation was particularly difficult. The crew unfurled the national flag on the peak early the following morning at 5.44 AM after an exhausting nine-hour hike.
