{"id":1812,"date":"2023-08-12T11:59:31","date_gmt":"2023-08-12T11:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=1812"},"modified":"2023-08-12T11:59:31","modified_gmt":"2023-08-12T11:59:31","slug":"massive-search-operation-launched-in-poonch-ahead-of-independence-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/massive-search-operation-launched-in-poonch-ahead-of-independence-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Massive search operation launched in Poonch ahead of Independence Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>POONCH: According to officials, <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/jk-sia-begins-fresh-probe-into-murder-of-kashmiri-pandit-judge-neelkanth-ganju-three-decades-ago\/\">security<\/a> troops began a <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/army-jawan-goes-missing-from-kulgam-search-operation-underway\/\">search operation<\/a> in more than a dozen villages in the <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/two-terrorists-including-a-top-hizbul-commander-are-killed-as-the-army-thwarts-an-infiltration-attempt-in-poonch\/\">Poonch<\/a> district of<a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/lg-sinha-interacts-with-youth-of-jk-studying-in-pune\/\"> Jammu and Kashmir<\/a> on Saturday. The villages are close to the <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/2-terrorists-gunned-down-as-security-forces-foil-infiltration-bid-in-poonch\/\">Line of Control.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prior to <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/400-metre-massive-tiranga-carried-at-rally-in-anantnag\/\">Independence Day<\/a>, they added, increased <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/1-terrorist-killed-in-encounter-in-rajouri\/\">security<\/a> in the border villages is being implemented, including the joint operation by the Army and <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/cop-among-2-arrested-for-creating-ruckus-at-eatery-in-kathua\/\">J&amp;K Police<\/a> in the Gursai area of the Mendhar subdivision.<\/p>\n<p>Over a dozen villages, including Salwah, Sarooti, Gursai Top, Sanai, Keri Kanga, and Terkhara, were surrounded by security forces, and a search operation was started. The latest reports came in while the operation was still going on.<\/p>\n<p>In the Jammu region, security has been stepped up to deter any terrorist attempts to sabotage Independence Day celebrations on August 15.<\/p>\n<p>In order to prevent any terrorist attacks, Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Jammu Zone), advocated for &#8220;offensive operations&#8221; on August 9 during a high-level joint security meeting in Jammu, particularly in the Rajouri-Poonch and Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban ranges.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a high degree of alertness was to be maintained, and border and highway security were to be strengthened.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1813\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1813\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1813\" src=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Screenshot-2023-08-12-at-5.21.10-PM-300x176.png\" alt=\"Massive search operation launched in Poonch ahead of Independence Day\" width=\"300\" height=\"176\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1813\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Massive search operation launched in Poonch ahead of Independence Day<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>POONCH: According to officials, security troops began a search operation in more than a dozen villages in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
