SRINAGAR, Jun 1: Rains lash J&K while MeT<\/a> on Thursday predicted widespread intermittent light to moderate rain<\/a> during the next 24 hours. MeT office said , Thursday’s weather in Jammu and Kashmir will typically be cloudy with sporadic light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning possible.
\nOn June 2, there is a chance of hailstorms and strong winds in a few locations, while on June 3, rain and thunderstorms<\/a> are possible in a few isolated to dispersed locations in Jammu and Kashmir in the late afternoon or evening.
\nAccording to the MeT office, no significant rainfall is expected until June 10.According to the forecast, the weather will primarily remain dry although from June 4 to 10 there is a chance of a light shower or thunderstorm.
\nFarmers have been urged by the weatherman to start all farm operations on June 4. Additional rain or snow may temporarily hinder travel over sensitive areas.
\nAdditionally, it has advised everyone involved to travel with caution, to stay awake and attentive, and to heed traffic alerts.According to the MeT office, during the last 24 hours up till 8:30 a.m. Rainfall totals on Wednesday were 10mm in Srinagar, 11.4mm in Qazigund, 11.5mm in Pahalgam, 10.7mm in Kupwara, 10.4mm in Kokernag, and 14.6mm in Gulmarg.
\nIn Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, a low of 11.4 degrees Celsius was recorded, compared to a usual low of 12.5 degrees Celsius.
\nThe maximum temperature on Thursday was 11.0 degrees Celsius below average (26.3 degrees Celsius), causing locals and visitors to dress warmly.The\u00a0gateway\u00a0to\u00a0Kashmir,\u00a0Qazigund,\u00a0had\u00a0a\u00a0low\u00a0of\u00a011.0\u00a0degrees\u00a0Celsius,\u00a0down\u00a0from\u00a011.2\u00a0the\u00a0day\u00a0before.\u00a0This\u00a0is\u00a00.1\u00a0degrees\u00a0Celsius\u00a0below\u00a0average. Pahalgam\u00a0had\u00a0a\u00a0low\u00a0temperature\u00a0of\u00a09.4\u00a0degrees\u00a0Celsius,\u00a0compared\u00a0to\u00a08.8\u00a0degrees\u00a0the\u00a0night\u00a0before.\u00a0This\u00a0was\u00a01.0\u00a0degrees\u00a0Celsius\u00a0warmer\u00a0than\u00a0average\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0well-known\u00a0tourist\u00a0destination\u00a0in\u00a0south\u00a0Kashmir.
