{"id":17080,"date":"2024-05-19T11:28:53","date_gmt":"2024-05-19T11:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=17080"},"modified":"2024-05-19T11:28:53","modified_gmt":"2024-05-19T11:28:53","slug":"three-national-conference-workers-injured-in-stabbing-incident-at-poll-rally-in-poonch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/three-national-conference-workers-injured-in-stabbing-incident-at-poll-rally-in-poonch\/","title":{"rendered":"Three National Conference Workers Injured In Stabbing Incident At Poll Rally In Poonch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JAMMU, May 19: Three <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/farooq-abdullah-says-pm-modi-dividing-nation-to-stay-in-power\/\">National Conference<\/a> (NC) workers were injured when unidentified persons attacked them with knives at an election rally in Mendhar in Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s Poonch district on Sunday, officials said.NC president <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/attack-on-iaf-convoy-shows-terrorism-not-over-in-jk-farooq-abdullah\/\">Farooq Abdullah<\/a> was present at the rally organised by the party in support of its <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/dpap-leader-parray-files-nomination-from-anantnag-rajouri-lok-sabha-seat\/\">Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat<\/a> candidate Mian Altaf in Mendhar. The rally continued without any disruption.Officials said there was a clash between two groups over some issue during the rally. Taking advantage of the melee, the attackers managed to escape, the officials said. Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are trying to nab the culprits, they said.<br \/>\nSohail Ahmad and Yaseer Ahmad, both residents of Harni, and Mohd Imran of Kasblari village, received stab injuries and were taken to a local hospital, the officials said.<br \/>\nThey said the condition of Sohail and Yaseer was stated to be serious and they were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Rajouri for specialised treatment, they added.<br \/>\nSenior NC leader Javed Ahmad Rana termed the incident a \u201dsecurity lapse\u201d and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.<br \/>\nHe said it is very strange that people carrying knives managed to enter the rally venue.<br \/>\n\u201dIt is a serious incident and should be probed,\u201d said Rana.<br \/>\nSome days ago, one of the injured youth\u2019s brothers was attacked by the same group and an FIR was registered against the accused, said the NC leader, who rushed to the hospital
