KULGAM : LG Sinha<\/a> visited Kulgam<\/a> today to open the Veshaw Literary Festival, which was conducted by the District Administration and Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA).The Lt. Governor<\/a> honoured the martyrs<\/a> who gave the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the nation’s integrity and sovereignty during his visit. He also gave the residents of the district his dedication for a number of development projects. The Lt. Governor<\/a> praised the IGNCA and the District Administration’s efforts to promote literary activities in Kulgam in his speech on the occasion. He stated that the public will experience the force of ideas and imagination throughout the next two days of the Veshaw Literary Festival. “J&K showcases India’s rich cultural variety and has preserved centuries-old ancient wisdom.. Over the years, writers, artists, rishis, and sufis served as a guiding force and made significant contributions to cultural synergies, the Lt. Governor<\/a> stated. According to him, the world of literature and art broadens our horizons, provides endless knowledge, intellectual inspiration, and fresh viewpoints. Additionally, literature fosters personal development and offers fresh perspectives. He went on to say that we had to value the variety that literature in other languages brings to enlighten society. The Lt. Governor reaffirmed the commitment of the UT Administration and noted that in recent years, a supportive atmosphere has been developed for artists, authors, and litterateurs to reach their full potential and advance the rich spiritual, artistic, and cultural values of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the writers and artists to tell the world about the change happening in J&K UT. “Terrorism has an effect on all significant facets of a society, is detrimental to artistic freedom, and inhibits sociocultural advancement. The Lt. Governor remarked, “We must work together to eliminate this threat and uphold human dignity, freedom of opinion, and the fundamental right to cultural expression.The Lt. Governor also emphasised important changes made by the UT Administration to achieve social and economic equality, raise living standards, and promote inclusive growth in J&K. He claimed that 05 Marla of land in Kulgam had been given to the 29 destitute, landless PMAY applicants. He stated that handholding was offered to 7286 youth in the district through various self-employment programmes. On this occasion, the Lt. Governor also urged the populace to balance rights and responsibilities in order to advance the Union Territory. According to him, it will be simpler for the government to care for the requirements of the poor, small, and marginal farmers and even give them assistance from their electricity bills if the capable segment of society pays for the services. But if the wealthy refuse to fulfil their obligations to J&K and the country, the system will not work.The Indoor Badminton Court, the Two Lane 400 Mtr Bridge on Kulgam-Chambgund Road, the Conference Hall at Mini Secretariat, and the Finance Complex at Mini Secretariat were among the projects that the Lt Governor formally launched today. District Development Council Kulgam Chairman Mohammad Afzal Parrey, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Secretary Tourism Department Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat, PRI members, notable figures from the literary world, and a sizable crowd were present.<\/p>\n
