SRINAGAR : The meteorological department<\/a> predicted Tuesday that Jammu and Kashmir would have light to heavy rain<\/a>, thunder, and lightning up until June 2. Farmers were urged to halt all activities during that time. The next 24 hours were forecast to bring mild to heavy rain, thunder, and lightning, according to a meteorological department official.In remote areas, a hailstorm cannot be completely ruled out. He predicted widespread intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning between May 31 and June 2, as well as the chance of hailstorms and gusty winds in a few isolated locations. Between June 3 and 8, it is expected to be mainly dry, although “rain\/thunderstorm at isolated places can’t be ruled out.” He did note that no significant rainfall was anticipated. He urged farmers to halt all agricultural activities until June 2nd. “Rain or snow may momentarily hinder traffic over critical locations. Everyone involved is urged to exercise caution and stay vigilant, he said.In terms of temperature, he stated that Srinagar recorded a low of 11.8\u00b0C, down from 12.0\u00b0C the night before, and 0.2\u00b0C below average for the summer capital. According to him, Qazigund recorded a low of 11.2\u00b0C compared to 9.9\u00b0C the night before, which was 0.5\u00b0C warmer than average for the Kashmiri gateway town. He said that Pahalgam, a well-known tourist destination in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, recorded a low of 8.8\u00b0C, compared to 5.1\u00b0C the previous night, and that it was 2.7\u00b0C above typical for the area. He said that the temperature in Kupwara town, which was 0.6\u00b0C below average for the north Kashmir region, settled at 11.2\u00b0C as opposed to 9.2\u00b0C the previous night. According to the officials, the low temperature in Kokernag was 8.3\u00b0C as opposed to 10.5\u00b0C the night before, which was 2.3\u00b0C below average. Compared to the 7.0\u00b0C low from the previous night, Gulmarg recorded a low of 4.0\u00b0C, which was 3.1\u00b0C below average, according to him. Gulmarg is a renowned skiing destination in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir. According to him, Jammu’s low temperature was 20.6\u00b0C as opposed to 22.2\u00b0C the night before, which was 4.3\u00b0C below average for the winter capital of J&K. Low temperatures were observed in Banihal (11.3\u00b0C, 0.9\u00b0C below normal), Batote (11.0\u00b0C, 4.0\u00b0C below normal), Katra (16.8\u00b0C, 4.8\u00b0C below normal), and Bhaderwah (10.9\u00b0C, 0.2\u00b0C below normal).
