Now the time has come for us to sustain the availability of clean air: LG Sinha<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mother Nature is reminding us to learn proper lessons from the wrong steps of the past and work towards a cleaner and greener planet: LG<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>LG announces Rs 1.5 Cr for strengthening of Himalayan Aerosol Research Instrumentation centre of Central University of Jammu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>LG assures support to Indian Institute of Geomagnetism for expansion of research-related activities in J&amp;K<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SAMBA, FEBRUARY 26:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/lt-governor-inspects-progress-of-balidan-stambh-in-srinagar\/\">Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha<\/a> inaugurated the 2nd Aerosol Winter School \u2013 \u2018Manthan 2024\u2019 at Central University of Jammu today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his address, the Lt Governor commended the joint endeavour of Central University of Jammu, Sindhu Central University Ladakh and Indian National Young Academy of Science to impart hands-on training on required instrumentation and analytical techniques as well as remote sensing tools for air quality studies to meet the objectives of the National Clean Air Programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He emphasised on the collaborative and cross-sectoral coordination to tackle air pollution, which has turned into a serious health concern for the people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAir sustains life. Now the time has come for us to sustain the availability of clean air. Mother Nature is reminding us to learn proper lessons from the wrong steps of the past and work towards a cleaner and greener planet,\u201d the Lt Governor said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lt Governor reiterated the resolve of the <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/set-in-motion-the-process-for-establishment-of-ndps-courts-cs\/\">UT Administration<\/a>, under the leadership of Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to address the challenges of Air pollution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He called for effective monitoring network and inclusive public participation and capacity-building measures to ensure sustainable solutions, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe societies and nations have prospered because of balanced and sustainable development. Many important achievements of the industries, science and technology have also derived their strength from nature. Today, it is time to protect and preserve the nature,\u201d he further added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He directed the Jammu Kashmir Pollution Control Committee and other key stakeholders to assess and review the progress registered under National Clean Air Programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/lt-governor-addresses-convocation-ceremony-of-khardiha-mahavidyalaya-at-ghazipur\/\">Lt Governor<\/a> announced Rs 1.5 cr to be allocated by Forest, Ecology and Environment Department for strengthening of Himalayan Aerosol Research Instrumentation centre of Central University of Jammu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also assured Indian Institute of Geomagnetism of necessary support by the UT Administration for expansion of research-related activities in J&amp;K.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the occasion, a Service Level Agreement was inked between District Skill Committee Samba and School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu for capacity building and skill courses in Samba District under SANKALP Scheme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu; Sh\u00a0 Dheeraj Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Forests, Prof AP Dimri, Director Indian Institute of Geomagnetism; Prof Sachin S Gunthe, IIT Madras; Sh Abhishek Sharma,\u00a0 Deputy Commissioner Samba, experts, HoDs, faculty members and students were present.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11788\"
