{"id":11654,"date":"2024-02-24T07:00:21","date_gmt":"2024-02-24T07:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/?p=11654"},"modified":"2024-02-24T07:00:21","modified_gmt":"2024-02-24T07:00:21","slug":"eci-takes-strong-exception-to-defiance-of-instructions-on-transfers-postings-of-officers-in-wake-of-anticipated-ls-polls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/eci-takes-strong-exception-to-defiance-of-instructions-on-transfers-postings-of-officers-in-wake-of-anticipated-ls-polls\/","title":{"rendered":"ECI Takes Strong Exception To Defiance of Instructions On Transfers, Postings of Officers In Wake of Anticipated LS Polls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JAMMU, Feb 24: Observing contravention to the instructions on transfers and postings of officers in wake of upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/ghulam-nabi-azad-hints-at-not-contesting-lok-sabha-polls-says-will-campaign-for-dpap-leaders\/\">Lok Sabha<\/a> polls, <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/ekam-sanatan-dal-to-contest-jammu-kathua-among-400-ls-seats\/\">Election Commission of India<\/a> has directed the offices concerned in all states and <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/bills-listed-to-extend-provisions-of-womens-reservation-law-in-uts-of-puducherry-jk\/\">union territories<\/a> to strictly adhere to and comply with the transfer policy instructed by the Commission.<br \/>\nSecretary, Ashwani Kumar Mohal, in a communiqu\u00e9 to Chief Secretaries of all the States &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/bills-listed-to-extend-provisions-of-womens-reservation-law-in-uts-of-puducherry-jk\/\">Union Territories<\/a> and Chief Electoral Officers of all the States &amp; Union Territories that, \u201cI am directed to refer to the Commission\u2019s instruction of even number dated 21.12.2023 on the subject cited and to state that the said instruction clearly indicated that the Commission has been following a consistent policy that officers connected with conduct of elections in an election going State\/UT are not posted in their home districts or places where they have served for considerably long period.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIt has come to the Commission\u2019s notice that in certain cases officers are being transferred\/posted in the adjacent districts within the same Parliamentary Constituency thereby undermining the spirit of transfer policy,\u201d observes the communiqu\u00e9.<br \/>\n\u201cTherefore, the Commission has directed that, except for the States\/UTs that comprise of up to two <a href=\"https:\/\/jammubulletin.com\/site\/its-been-6-to-7-years-elections-have-still-not-happened-in-jk-farooq-abdullah\/\">Parliamentary<\/a> Constituencies, all States shall ensure that officers who are transferred out of the district are not posted within the same Parliamentary Constituency. This shall also be applicable to the transfers\/postings that have already been given effect in pursuance of the Commission\u2019s instruction.
