NEW DELHI : Rahul<\/a> on Sunday took a jibe at PM over the inauguration of the new Parliament<\/a>, and said that the event is being considered as a “coronation”.”The people’s voice is in the legislature! On Twitter, the prime minister declared, “The PM is seeing the opening of the Parliament House as a coronation. On Sunday, PM Modi<\/a> installed the ‘Sengol’ in the Lok Sabha chamber and unveiled a plaque to officially dedicate the new Parliament building to the country. Notably, the new Parliament building’s opening was skipped by Congress and 20 other parties. They have said that they will “boycott” the inaugural ceremony after accusing the administration of “bypassing” President Droupadi Murmu for the occasionIn the new Lok Sabha chamber, Prime Minister Modi placed the revered “Sengol” next to the Speaker’s chair after performing puja. During the event, PM Modi also knelt before the “Sengol” as a sign of reverence.The new Parliament building hosted a “sarva dharma prarthana” (multi-faith prayer) ritual as part of the celebration, during which religious leaders chanted prayers in a variety of languages. The newly built Parliamentary complex is furnished with cutting-edge amenities that will aid the Members in carrying out their duties more effectively. This will serve to further enhance India’s illustrious democratic traditions and constitutional ideals.The Lok Sabha can accommodate 888 members in the new Parliament building. The existing Parliament building has space for 250 Rajya Sabha members and 543 Lok Sabha members to assemble..Plans have been made, taking into account future requirements, for the 888 Lok Sabha members and the 384 Rajya Sabha members to convene in the newly constructed building of the Parliament. The joint session of both Houses will take place in the Lok Sabha Chamber.<\/p>\n
