RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 12: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat<\/a> today chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission<\/a> schemes, aiming to ensure clean drinking water access to rural communities.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the DC emphasized the crucial aspects of high-quality work, timely project completion, and effective supervision to achieve the goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The discussion highlighted significant advancements in Rajouri, with 298 JJM schemes having 660 components with estimated cost of Rs 1974.77 cr have been sanctioned in the district.<\/p>\n

Regarding component-wise status of the implementation of the JJM works, it was informed that out of 205 borewells, the work on 196 borewells is completed. As for the dugwells, out of 24, work on 2 is completed, while the rest are in progress. Additionally, out of 107 rapid sand filtration plants, work on 99 has been initiated. Furthermore, under Overhead Tanks (OHTs), out of 9, 5 have been completed.<\/p>\n

To accelerate the implementation of these schemes, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to adopt a results-driven approach, adhering to strict timelines. Through focused efforts and dedicated work, the mission is rapidly transforming into a reality, promising a healthier and happier life for the residents of the region.<\/p>\n

For the schemes where the work has not been started yet, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to promptly address issues hindering the initiation of work on such schemes. Ensuring a swift resolution, he emphasized the need for immediate action to kickstart the projects at the earliest.<\/p>\n

The DC emphasized the need for a holistic approach towards water management, emphasizing that it is not just about providing access to clean drinking water but also about preserving and sustainably utilizing these vital resources.<\/p>\n

This meeting was a testament to the commitment of the District Administration to implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission effectively, ensuring that rural areas have access to a basic necessity – clean drinking water.<\/p>\n

Overall the meeting was a constructive platform for officers to share their experiences, exchange ideas, and find solutions to the challenges facing the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The Deputy Commissioner directed them to continue working with dedication and commitment to achieve the mission’s objectives.<\/p>\n
