Jammu and Kashmir Police debunks claim ‘disruptive illegal organisation’ caused Kishtwar accident that killed seven

JAMMU : On Wednesday J&K Police rejected as fake news claims that a “disruptive illegal organisation” was behind a road accident near the Dangduru power project site in the Kishtwar district that killed seven people.According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Kishtwar) Khalil Poswal, it was a traffic accident brought on by the driver losing control of the car at a steep curve, which caused it to slide down a hill. On social media, the People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) claimed responsibility for the incident. According to a disruptive illegal organization’s phoney report that has been making the rounds on social media, Dangduru’s vehicle accident today was their fault, Poswal added. The general population is urged not to believe any of the rumours circulated by such disruptive organisations, he continued. “The statement of (the) PAFF is refuted,” he said. He warned that anyone detected distributing false information would face harsh punishment. According to the authorities, the accident happened about 8:35 am close to the Dangduru power project site in the outlying Dacchan region. In the tragedy, there were seven fatalities and two critical injuries. At the location of the power plant, all of the victims were employees. Rescuers and locals hurried the injured to a hospital, according to the police.
