Air Force deploys Dornier aircraft to transport liver from Pune to Delhi
NEW DELHI: In order to save the life of an army veteran, the Indian Air Force quickly used its Dornier aircraft to fly a group of medics from the Army Hospital here to Pune in order to recover a liver. The Indian Air Force stated on Sunday that the mission was important because it was carried out on short notice on February 23. "An IAF Dornier aircraft was activated at short notice to airlift a team of doctors of Army Hospital (R&R), to retrieve a liver from Pune to Delhi during the night on 23 February," added the statement. According to the IAF, the veteran's life was spared thanks to the subsequent transplant procedure. Army Hospital (Research and Referral), also referred to as Army Hospital (R&R), is the premier medical facility in the Delhi Cantonment region for the armed forces, treating military personnel as well as their families.
