Srinagar, May 27 : A day after NIA pleaded for the death penalty to (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik, Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Saturday said deterrent measures should be taken against those who are trying to threaten national security.”The NIA’s request for the death penalty for Yasin Malik emphasises how urgent it is to stop the funding of militants in Jammu and Kashmir. Justice must be upheld, and anyone attempting to endanger the security of our country must face deterrent measures, Bukhari said on Twitter.The Kashmiri separatist leader, who was given a life sentence by a court in this city in a case involving funding for terrorism a year ago, was the subject of a request for the death penalty from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday. The NIA claimed that failing to execute such a “dreaded terrorist” would lead to a miscarriage of justice.On May 29, a bench of Justices Siddharth Mridul and Talwant Singh will hear the NIA’s appeal.
